It seems crazy to think that legendary stylist and editor Carine Roitfeld and Beyoncé (a.k.a. "The Greatest Living Entertainer") haven't worked together...until now. For the newest, stacked issue of CR Fashion Book, Carine put Queen B on the cover of Issue 5, marking their first collaboration ever. The shoot has guest creative direction by Riccardo Tisci and was captured by Pierre Debusschere (who also directed her "Mine" video featuring Drake).
In it, she wears everything from COMME des GARÇONS shorts to a Saint Laurent cape, a Prada dress, and a Givenchy skirt by Riccardo Tisci. Beyond the stunning images, disputing any claim that Beyoncé's not a fashion icon, there's a poem written by Beyoncé ("remixed" by Forrest Gander) that calls her daughter Blue Ivy her "biggest muse" and explains her "deep bond with young children" who she's "met across the years." She also says that she's "tuned to spirits" and "the emotions of others," before dropping the realness—she's inspired by her stage persona, Sasha, in "performance, rifts, even in bed." We're guessing that's when Yoncé takes over.
Issue 5 also features North West's first solo fashion editorial (where she's called "The Future") and a spread depicting the (trending) Chinese beach accessory, the facekini. Now that Beyoncé's on the cover, you may have to buy two copies.
