Aaron Rodgers

The biggest surprise of the first round of the NFL Draft had nothing to do with Tua Tagovailoa, which many had expected. Nope, instead the biggest surprise was the Green Bay Packers trading up in the first round to select Utah State QB Jordan Love. Yes, the Packers still have Aaron Rodgers. Obviously, the pick has started the speculation about how long Rodgers will now be with the Packers. You don't draft QBs that high to have them ride the bench.

The move was puzzling because not only had Rodgers publicly pleaded with the team to add some skill players, they're also coming off a 13-3 season. This isn't a rebuilding team, even though they just drafted a guy who won't be able to help Aaron Rodgers win. Truly puzzling and we'd have to imagine Rodgers isn't happy. How long before Rodgers requests out of Green Bay or before they just decide to move on from him and give Love the reigns? That's now the question in focus, and with the rumors flying, we decided to put together a list of five teams that should absolutely look into trading for Rodgers.

San Fransisco 49ers

The 49ers already admitted that they considered making a run at Tom Brady this offseason. That means they're not 100% sold on Jimmy G, no matter how much they tell you otherwise. Not only is Rodgers from the Bay Area, but he's younger than Brady and would be more than just a one or two year thing. We know Jimmy G just led the 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance, but could you imagine Rodgers playing with those weapons and that defense? Would be insane.

Las Vegas Raiders

If Aaron Rodgers does get put on the trading block, you already know the Raiders will be in on it. That's just the Raiders way. Plus, the team hasn't seemed real comitted to Derrick Carr recently, which is further evidence that they'd surely make a run at Rodgers. Football wise, the Raiders have plenty of weapons to make them an appealing option. And can you imagine Rodgers vs. Patrick Mahomes twice a year? Sign us up.

New England Patriots

Everyone knows the Patriots need a new QB. Nobody knows if Bill Belichick would engage in a trade for Rodgers, even though it's a huge need for the team. Maybe the Patriots would prefer going with youth over a proven vet, but could you imagine Rodgers replacing Brady in New England?

Dallas Cowboys

Don't act shocked at this. Would Jerry Jones really turn down a chance to make a run at Aaron Rodgers? Yes, the Cowboys have Dak Prescott, but they haven't been able to work out a longterm deal for months and if they don't before the season starts, then Dak would be a free agent next offseason. What if Jerry and the Cowboys decide to move on and really go after it with Aaron Rodgers? We're pretty sure No. 12 would love to lead an offense with Zeke, Cooper, and CeeDee Lamb.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The true wild card of this group. The Steelers seem comitted to Big Ben, but let's be honest, his body is breaking down on him. You never want to rely on a QB coming off of elbow surgery and their backup situation is one of the worst in the NFL. Going after Rodgers would open up a championship window in Pittsburgh right now.
