This feels like déjà vu. Maybe because we wrote a very similar story almost one year ago today, when the Raiders released Antonio Brown. Not even very similar. Pretty much the exact same thing, though with very different circumstances this time around. He ended up on the Patriots, but only played one game after they released him over legal issues. Brown will be eligible to play in the NFL again after week 8, and, according to Adam Schefter, a handful of teams are interested in the former All-Pro WR. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. If you can still play, a NFL team will look to sign you. While the Schefter report only mentioned the Seahawks, it also mentioned that other teams are positioning themselves to try and get in on signing Brown, who hasn't played an NFL snap in over a year.
With the speculation about Brown's next team sure to ramp up, we picked out five teams, including the Seahawks, that should look to sign AB.
Seattle Seahawks
Where else would we start? The Seattle Seahawks were the only team mentioned by name in the report about Brown's return to the league, so they have to be included, and probably considered the favorite. It's well-documented that Russell Wilson and AB have been friends for years now and even worked out together over the summer. This would be a no-brainer move for Seattle, who are always looking to add fresh talent to their squad. Could you imagine Brown, DK Metcalf, and Tyler Lockett as Wilson's weapons on the outside? Jeez.
Baltimore Ravens
Aside from the Seahawks, the Baltimore Ravens are probably the other most logical landing spot for Antonio Brown. He's always had a good relationship with Lamar Jackson, and his cousin Marquise Brown is already on the team. This really wouldn't be a shocking move at all, especially since Jackson and Brown worked out together a lot this past offseason. There's clearly some sort of bond there and the Ravens could stand to improve their WR corps a little bit.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles have had a brutal year filled with disappointing loses and plenty of injuries on both sides of the ball. Luckily, they play in the NFC East, which means they're still firmly in the playoff hunt, even though their record is 1-4-1. So let's talk about the fact that the Eagles need to get Carson Wentz some more weapons, and why Antonio Brown would fit right into an offense that has continued to put up points despite a slew of injuries. From a pure football standpoint, this just makes a lot of sense.
Green Bay Packers
It's time to get Aaron Rodgers some more weapons. In fact, it's long overdue. Yes, he has Aaron Jones and DaVante Adams, who are two of the most explosive players in the league. But Rodgers has long begged Packers management to get him some better WRs, and this is the perfect opportunity. Could you imagine Antonio Brown on one side and Adams on the other? That would be miserable for a defense and a dream come true for Rodgers.
Tennessee Titans
Bit of a curveball here, but the Tennessee Titans are one of the best teams in the NFL and Ryan Tannehill is playing at an MVP level so far this season. They have Derrick Henry running over folks, and AJ Brown is putting up crazy numbers. The Titans were actually one of the teams that tried to trade for Brown when the Steelers initially put him on the block, so we know there's some sort of interest there. This would be a total Belichick move from Mike Vrabel, too. Get it done.
