First things first. "Thru" is not a word. "Through" is, though. You know, like when you drive through a fast food line to pick up a double-double or a market fresh sandwich or a 20-piece chicken nuggets for only $4.99. We realize it says it on your local McDonald's sign, but that doesn't make it proper grammar.
A couple weeks ago, we provided you all with a nice list of harmeless, but awesome, car pranks that you can pull on your friends for a good laugh. We thought about doing the same with drive-through pranks, but we came to realize just how stupid, old, or disrespectful most of these pranks are. So, if you're sitting in your parent's basement this weekend, or walking around aimlessly in Walmart at 2:43 a.m. thinking about going to Burger King with a camcorder for a little late night fun, do everybody a favor and fall back. Here are 10 Played Out Drive-Through Pranks.
10. Acting Like You're Somewhere Else
A good prank is funny for an entire group of people. This is one of those "pranks" that might be funny when you think about it in your head, but in reality, it's just dumb and a waste of everybody's time. Don't order a Whopper at McDonald's, don't order a chicken mctwister at Taco Bell, and don't order a Crave Case at Long John Silver's. People are just going to think you're high and have the munchies and will probably just end up ignoring you.
9. Any Joke Referencing Dane Cook
That was like seven years ago! Just stop, already. It's done. You're done. No more pickles.
8. Voices
In theory, it's hilarious when you think about it, especially when Gabriel Iglesias is the one discussing it. The thing about that is Gabriel Iglesias is a comedian. He can properly deliver funny things. You, on the other hand, probably can't. Just about every weird or creepy voice has been delivered into one of those round little speakers, so nothing you do will be original or creative. Just order your five-piece and move on.
7. Walking or Riding a Bike
What are you, seven? Just go inside like a normal person.
6. Singing or Rapping Your Order
There are few people can do this well. If you're not these guys, you probably just sound like some weirdo who is desperate for a little bit of YouTube fame. And trust us, thirst isn't a good look on anybody.
5. Mumbling
After a few years experience working the drive-through window, we can personally attest that there was nothing more frustrating than being unable to hear or understand somebody through that super annoying headset we had to wear. You're wasting time, holding up the line, and it's not even funny.
4. Floating Objects
We have a confession. This is actually one of our favorite drive-through pranks. The only reason we're salty about it is because we're not really sure how to make a dollar bill or a fast food cup float in our car. They take it out of the air and put it back. How does it work!?
3. Burning Rubber
So, you want to needlessly waste your money just so you can smoke out a poor fast food attendant? Damn, homie, you might be the funniest guy alive! Trust us when we say we'll be laughing at you, not with you.
2. Coning
We don't give a shit that Justin Bieber did it. We have an issue with this prank for one reason and one reason only: YOU WASTE ICE CREAM. How dare you waste God's tasty gift to the earth by putting your own grimy hands all over that soft-serve goodness. Plus, you also risk dripping vanilla all over your car, which is an entirely different monster.
1. "Fire in the Hole"
There's really absolutely nothing funny about this "prank." This type of bitch move is simply disrespectful, and is a great way to ruin three or four people's nights. You can bet the Karma queen is going to come around about a week later when you're stuck on the side of the road and don't know how to change your own flat tire.
