We all remember the DeLorean. It was a stainless steel, '80s-tastic wedge of Irish insanity, and it was even capable of time travel. Sadly, it was also a piece of crap. The DeLorean was a slow, unreliable car that handled like a refrigerator. Luckily for nostalgists worldwide, the body of the DeLorean is now returning to market with all new, functional, effective engineering--and as an electric model. Here are the five things you need to know about it.

Complex Says: The DeLorean was a weird, quirky car. Many of today's unusual automobiles are electric, and the new DeLorean is no exception. This thing will have a style and road presence that the Tesla roadster isn't going to be able to match. It is supposed to get 70-100 miles per charge, and charge up in three hours on a 50-amp source, or overnight from a 110-volt outlet.
It Has a Transmission

Complex Says: Unlike most electric cars, the new DeLorean will have a transmission--a direct drive with electronic trans drive selection, to be precise. You don't have to worry about having a numbingly smooth, shift-free driving experience here.
The Weight Distribution is Better

Complex Says: The DeLorean was a rear-engined car, and it was balanced like Kim Kardashian (35/65...yikes! it's all in back) as a result. The placement of the battery on the new DeLorean has shifted a lot of the weight toward the front of the car. This more neutral balance should help handling a lot.

Complex Says: The original DeLorean did its 0-60 sprint in 10.5 seconds. That's slow even by 1981 standards. Luckily, this new, electric Delorean gets off the line and to 60mph in a quick 4.9 seconds.
