We miss the Toyota MR2. It was basically a Pontiac Fiero that wasn't on fire and started when the owner turned the key in the ignition, and we think those are both very important features.
This is the TE-S800, and it represents what one Toyota engineer imagines an MR2 successor would be. It looks dead sexy, and it's powered by the same hybrid drivetrain as the Prius. 115hp goes a long way in a car that weight less than 2,000 lbs, however. The TE-S800 hits 60 mph in a quick 5.8 seconds.
Sounds great to us.
