Dennis Rodman Tweets a MAGA Blessing for Trump and Kim Jong-un's Meeting

Trump and the North Korean leader will meet in May.

It's hard not to immediately think of controversy when you think of Dennis Rodman, so you can't rule anything out when it comes to the former NBA star. Today, Rodman took to Twitter to share a photo of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un wearing a bright red hat emblazoned with Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign slogan "Make America Great Again."

Rodman shared the image with a fairly simple caption, "Hoping for this after my two friends and leaders meet next month."

Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump recently agreed to a meeting that could very well mark the end of a 70-year standoff between the nations, and Rodman's friendship with both men makes the tweet pretty unsurprising. It wasn't too long ago that the two leaders basically threatened to wipe each other's countries out, so the meeting might be the first step in, at the very least, a less volatile direction. The meeting, which would be the very first between a sitting U.S. president and a North Korean leader, is scheduled a TBA May date.

Rodman is one of just two known people on earth to have met both leaders and has been open about his desire to act as a go-between for the two of them to help fix tensions with both countries. Rodman was a contestant on Trump's Celebrity Apprentice in 2013, and has also been a frequent visitor and basketball diplomat to North Korea in the last few years, even telling Stephen Colbert last year that he was close enough Kim Jong-un to "discuss anything."
