Some car trends are cool (matte colors, forged rims, engine swaps, etc) while others wreak of desperation and lack of funding (wraps, lambo doors, super camber, etc). Today, in honor of keepin' it real, we expose 10 current car trends that need to go the way of dice in the mirror and spinners and drift off into the sunset.

Okay, so maybe the whole pro driver thing didn't pan out. No big deal. But please don't further the fantasy by associating yourself with companies that don't even know that you exist. It's just bad form.
Tacky Tachometers
We get it. Your homemade road-rocket can 'supposedly' blow away a Lambo Murciélago in a drag race. Do you really need a mongo tachometer taped to your windshield to prove it? We didn't think so ...
After-Market Lambo Doors
Here's a tip: If you've got $2,500 burning a hole in your pocket, don't go out and buy a pair of ridiculous scissor doors for your jalopy. It looks dumb and screams "I wish I had a lambo, but this was all I could afford." That or, "I could have made my next rent payment, but I wanted to get ready for Fast and the Furious 6 this summer."
Chrome Wraps
Chrome wraps were modestly cool back in in 2004 (remember when 50 Cent wrapped his Lambo?). Since then, the trend has become markedly less awesome. After all, a mirror on wheels - though extremely shiny and bright - doesn't look especially awesome.
Jacked-Up Minivans
Try to avoid buying a minivan, until you find yourself saddled with a gaggle of kids and wife who won't let you out of the house. Until then, if you must join your tuner brotherhood, get yourself a nice EVO or WRX, not a Toyota Sienna.
Superpowered Jalopies
We don't care if your car can beat an F430 in a drag race. A Ferrari will always be a Ferrari and a jacked-up Cavalier will always be a jacked-up Cavalier. Don't be that guy that once told us he punched a hole in a Lambo back in high school.
When The Rims Cost More Than The Car
Expensive rims are only cool when they attached to an equally cool ride. If you have a crap car, please, we beg of you, don't spend $4,000 on a pair of 20' Giovannas. It looks desperate and dumb.
Tuned Hybrids
The whole point of a hybrid is to save gas while laying down a smaller carbon footprint, right? Not so fast. Hybrids have recently come into popularity with the tuner crowd, where they have been replacing the existing power-plants in favor of turbocharged, nitrous-guzzling V6s. What a shame...
Hyperactive Interiors
This trend seemed to take off around the time when 'Pimp My Ride' came to fame. Unlike the show, however, hyperactive interiors are still going strong; this is one trend we want to see cancelled.
Super Camber
We still can't figure out why people think super camber looks cool. It's terrible for the car and makes for a horribly uncomfortable ride. Hopefully, this is one trend that will go the way of spinners and neon lighting.
