10 Car Trends That Are No Longer Relevant

Nothing is more repulsive than spotting a thick pair of fake nuts dangling from the rear bumper of a pickup truck. While the trend is still going strong in certain parts of the deep south (big shock, right?), it has petered out in a large majority of the country .

The major problem with pop-up headlights was the fact that they often failed to 'pop-up'. Thankfully, auto companies came to their senses and did away with pop-ups in the mid-aughts.

Themed Donks are a serious contender for the worst trend to have come out of '90s car culture. They are beyond ugly, totally impractical, and a favorite among first-class thugs. In fact, if you see a donk rolling your way we suggest you run in the opposite direction—preferably in a zig-zag pattern.

These things were the epitome of poor car design; they would always strangle you before you had a chance to settle in. Despite being annoying, we prefer the dinging seat-belt alarm that now comes standard on most modern production cars.

It's a convertible! Wait, no, it's just another dumbass who decided that a hard-top would look better with a long sheet of vinyl glued on top. Join us in a collective groan.

While woodies from the '50s and '60s remain valuable collector pieces, wood-paneled cars from the '80s and early '90s are forever remembered as some of the ugliest cars ever built. This is one trend we were happy to see go by the waist-side.

Remember when fallen hubcaps used to litter the sides of highways? Thankfully, hubcaps are a relic of the past thanks in large part to the lowered cost of more durable—and drastically more stylish—rims.

Reverse seating appeared to have been specifically designed for five-year-olds looking to hone their middle finger skills. Much to our delight, third row seating was finally 'turned around' in the late '90s.

For a brief time during the early 2000s spinners were actually cool. They were even incorporated into shoes. Thankfully, most of us came to our senses and realized just how dumb they look.

Much to our relief, rising gas prices coupled with increased government regulation have all but eliminated 'Brodozers'. There are still, however, those of you who feel the need to assert your masculinity through unsightly upgrades to already unsightly trucks. To you we say: "Fill er' up!"
