Former NFL linebacker Micheal Barrow was arrested this week following a heated altercation that allegedly turned physical and ended with him hitting his wife at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

According to police records obtained by TMZ Sports, the incident began around 9 p.m. on Monday (Sept. 1) as Barrow and family members argued on their way to the terminal.

The confrontation escalated when Barrow allegedly threatened to punch one person involved. His wife, Shelley, stepped in to intervene, but officers wrote that Barrow inadvertently struck her "in the face, which caused her to fall on the ground."

Barrow then allegedly punched the other individual "in the face with a closed fist," sparking a wrestling match that was broken up by authorities. He was taken into custody and booked at a Broward County jail on a charge of battery.

Court documents show Barrow pleaded not guilty to the allegations on Wednesday.

Barrow played 12 seasons in the NFL after being selected in the second round of the 1993 draft. He suited up for the Houston Oilers, Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, and Dallas Cowboys, recording more than 1,100 career tackles, 43 sacks, and 22 forced fumbles.

Before his pro career, he starred at the University of Miami, where he won two national championships.

Following his retirement, Barrow transitioned to coaching. He worked with the Hurricanes' staff from 2007 to 2013, later joining the Seattle Seahawks from 2015 to 2017, and more recently coached at Homestead High School in Florida.
