In 1995, the Montreal Expos drafted an up-and-coming catcher in the 18th round by the name of Tom Brady.
Kevin Malone, the then-Expos GM, said he had the potential to blossom into one of the best catchers ever.
Brady eventually abandoned baseball and continued his career in football, where he went on to win a measly seven Super Bowl championships and three MVPs.
But what if he never made the jump to football?
In a new ad for Topps, Brady dreams up a scenario where instead of becoming an NFL legend, he stayed with the Expos, winning them seven world series in his alternate-universe career.
"You know why Tom Brady won seven rings?" the bartender in the video asks. It wasn't because of his game calling or his arm."
"It was because of his hitting," a patron responds.
The rest of the video describes his fictitious accomplishments, including hitting 649 home runs, translating from his 649 touchdowns and making a legendary comeback against Atlanta.
Former Expos players Vladimir Guerrero Sr., Larry Walker, and Pedro Martinez even make an appearance.
"That guy just never let us lose," Walker said.
"Except to the Giants," Martinez interjected, referencing San Francisco instead of New York.
The video culminates with Brady waking up from a dream where he carried the Expos to longtime greatness instead of the New England Patriots.
In the end, the video is simply an ad for Brady's Expos draft pick card from 1995.
The video has had multiple reactions but many were just reminded of the depressing end to the Expos saga in 2004.
It may not be the storied return of the Expos many are hoping for, but it's the closest thing Montreal will get to bringing baseball back for now.
