Former NHL defenseman and current Phoenix Coyotes radio broadcaster Nick Boynton was arrested in the wee hours of Thursday morning after losing his shit at a Buffalo casino. Boynton was in town to work a Coyotes-Sabres game. The night before his radio broadcast for the game, he hit up a casino for some fun. There, his best attempts to shut it down almost literally shut the casino down.

Just before 2 a.m., an intoxicated Boynton began acting wildly. The casino bartender cut him off, prompting him to go into a fit of rage. According to the Buffalo News, he began yelling at fellow gamblers, shouting derogatory slurs at female casino employees, and generally acted like a drunk asshole. Things quickly got way out of hand though.

“When a customer sitting on a chair in one of the game pits asked him to stop yelling and swearing, Boynton went over to the customer and shoved him off the chair onto the floor,” a police source told the Buffalo News. "I didn’t think someone could get so crazy on alcohol. He was cursing and shouting that he knew how to make money and the casino didn’t.”

I didn’t think someone could get so crazy on alcohol. LOL.

After Boynton turned violent, Casino security acted to subdue him, but the SOB wouldn't back down. He "at one point did bite the hand of an officer who was attempting to subdue him," according to Buffalo Police spokesman Michael DeGeorge.

The 36-year-old broadcaster was arrested and charged with assault, disorderly conduct, harassment, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and obstruction of government administration in connection with the situation. While being held on $10,000 bail, he's currently being cared for at a local hospital, because his diabetic condition prompted officers to relocate him.

The Coyotes have placed Boynton on a leave of absence. They provided this statement to reporters: "A police investigation is underway. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and until the continuing legal process is completed, we will have no further comment."

What a savage. If his YouTube reel of hockey fights is any indication, that security officer is lucky to only escape with a bitemark. Boynton's a real tough MFer:
