Nick Young weighed in on the situation involving Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka, who was suspended last week for the entire 2022-23 season after engaging in an “intimate” relationship with a woman on the team’s staff.

Back in 2016, Iggy Azaleacalled off her engagement with Young after he admitted to cheating on her in a video recorded without his knowledge. He was taped by his Los Angeles Lakers teammate D’Angelo Russell. It was later revealed Young got ex-girlfriend Keonna Green, the mother of his son Nick Jr., pregnant.

Young and Green got engaged three years after his split with Azalea.

“It don’t matter about the woman,” Young told VladTV at the 3:00 mark above. “I think men just get bored sometimes, and things happen when you get bored.”

When asked to share some words of advice, Young was optimistic about the future for Udoka and his fiancée Nia Long. “I think it’s gonna work out. They’ve been in a relationship for too long. My situation was different, I got recorded,” said 37-year-old Young. “That’s Nia Long, though.”

Young also revealed he had a somewhat similar situation during his first year with the Washington Wizards. He and a teammate were “messing around with” a woman associated with the team, and when it was discovered, she was the one who got fired.

“It happened to me when I was a rookie,” Young said. “Me and Andray Blatche [were] messing around with, I think, one of the cheerleaders, or an assistant, and then they found out. Then we came to the gym, people were blaming us like it was our fault ’cause she got fired or something like that.”
