Russell Wilson and the Seahawks are still reportedly far away in negotiating a contract extension that will keep him in Seattle for the foreseeable future. Since it appears that inking a new deal this year is "highly unlikely," according to Bleacher Report's Jason Cole, a Seahawks fan has started a GoFundMe page to raise $5 million which will be used towards setting up an LLC to "sponsor" Wilson.
In turn, the 'Hawks financial burden towards keeping the 26-year-old quarterback will be lessened and they can use the additional revenue towards improving the roster. If Wilson were to refuse their "sponsorship," the money will be donated to the Seattle Children's Hospital.
So far, $1,289 has been raised in 13 days. Check out the GoFundMe page here.
