San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle D.J. Jones proposed to girlfriend Kayla Fannin, just hours before his team took on the Cleveland Browns at Levi’s Stadium on Monday night.
Jones managed to briefly distract Fannin by motioning towards the scoreboard in the opposite direction. When she turned back to him, he was down on one knee and ready to ask her to marry him in front of family.
Jones’ teammate Marquise Goodwin was seen standing nearby to cheer on the newly engaged couple.
Fannin shared a video of the proposal on her Instagram, along with a picture of the ring.
Jones' decision to take the next step in his personal life comes at a time when the 2017 NFL Draft sixth round pick has also seen an upswing in his professional football career after being named a starter this year.
