In what is shaping up to be one of the best playoff football games in recent memory, the New England Patriots just ran a trick play that made their matchup against the Baltimore Ravens infinitely more awesome.

Down seven points in the third quarter and set up at midfield, quarterback Tom Brady took the snap and looked to his left, where wide receiver Julian Edelman had subtlety taken a step back behind the line of scrimmage. Brady threw a backwards pass to him, and Edelman, a former three-year starter at quarterback at Kent State, cocked back to throw it. The Ravens defense was completely faked out, allowing Danny Amendola to run free down the sideline, and Edelman hit him perfectly in stride for a 51-yard touchdown.

This is why playoff football is amazing.
