The Minnesota Vikings escaped with an overtime victory against the St. Louis Rams, but it wasn't without a price. Starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was knocked unconscious by a forearm from Rams cornerback Lamarcus Joyner while Bridgewater was sliding down after a run in the fourth quarter. It was, essentially, a cheap shot, and a scary moment when Bridgewater lay motionless on the field after the hit.
As one might expect, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer was none to happy about the incident, and took a subtle shot at Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams after the game.
Later, on a postgame radio show in Minnesota, Zimmer called out Williams again.
Williams was the defensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints when the team was disciplined for Bountygate, where Williams was recorded telling his defense things like "kill the head and the body will die." Williams was suspended for the entirety of the 2012 season for his involvement in the scandal.
