For most players, pre-season training started properly this week. This meant the beginning of the end for everyone's favourite bit of the season – players on holiday – and that long awaited transfers were finally happening. Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard Instragrammed from their new American dreams, Memphis Depay was leaving his holiday to fly to Manchester, and Petr Cech has finally signed for Arsenal.
Some players are still on holiday, though. Jordan Henderson is away with the lads, Robin van Persie's been playing football on the beach and John Terry got drunk on a golf cart. Other footballers have spent the week with celebrities like LL Cool J and Kris Jenner, or, like Raphael Varane, playing with dolphins.
