In New York's first season with Derek Fisher and Phil Jackson at the helm, the Knicks aren't projected to finish particularly high in the standings. With a new system, an aging roster, and a number of adjustments to make, the 2014-15 season figures to be a rebuilding year in the Big Apple.
However, last night in a preseason game against John Wall and the Washington Wizards, New York star Carmelo Anthony shed a ray of light on Knicks fans, injecting a small measure of hope in those who still want to believe that the upcoming season can be a fruitful one for the franchise.
With the score tied 100-100 and 27.3 seconds left on the clock, the Knicks in-bounded the ball, and passed it off the Anthony, who drained a jumper with a hand in his face, putting New York 102-100.
The team would go on to win 103-100, and Anthony finished the game with 30 points, edging out Wall, who notched 29 points of his own.
