The 2014 NBA playoffs are shaping up to be some of the best ever. In the first round alone, we were treated to five Game 7s, a number of down-to-the-wire finishes, and one, unforgettable buzzer-beater. The second round hasn't been quite as eventful thus far, but with match-ups like the San Antonio Spurs versus the Portland Trail Blazers and the Oklahoma City Thunder versus the Los Angeles Clippers, it doesn't figure to be long before the competition starts to heat up.Â
Indeed, it will remind any basketball fan of the league's best days, when stars like Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, and Isiah Thomas ruled the hardwood. After all, with players like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Chris Paul still playing, how could we not think of how they fit in with the all-time greats?
With that idea in mind, we thought it'd be best to match-up all the best players of today with all the best players of yesterday, giving us the Stars of This Year's Playoffs And Their Golden Era NBA Equivalents.Â
Note: Players who have already been knocked out of the playoffs were not included on this list. So don't expect to see Stephen Curry or James Harden anywhere. Better luck next year, guys.Â
