Joel Embiid has expressed concern over whether or not his antics on social media are going to come back and bite him someday because, given enough time and tweets, they eventually come back to bite almost everybody. "I think I kind of represent Twitter in the NBA,” Embiid said to CSN Philadelphia earlier in January. “I like to think all the Twitter people, I represent them. But I never thought I would have this type of influence. I’m just trying to be me. If people enjoy it, that’s great (...) In the back of my head I think, ‘This is going to backfire at some point."

What's missing in his quote is any mention of Instagram. And, with that background firmly established so you have some sort of idea what we're talking about, cue the account of one of the many hot chicks littering that site (Bianca Ghezzi) and specifically her Saturday live feed, where Embiid asked her if she "liked black guys," openly yearned to get out of her friend zone, and also tried (to no avail) to get her to show him her feet:

If Ghezzi's name sounds familiar it's likely because a) you're one of her 177,000 IG followers. Or, b) you remember her as the model that Johnny Manziel spent a pricey Miami weekend with last March.

Joel Embiid Asks Fans to Vote Him to NBA All-Star Game So He Can Score Date With Celebrity Crush

Anyway, whether or not Embiid's approach actually worked is unclear. We're guessing no. After all, there's zero evidence that she replied. The move of demonstrating his public thirst is nothing new for the Sixers' big man, who has previously professed his love for Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, and asked for All-Star votes to get a date with his celebrity crush. As far as we can tell all of these efforts have been futile.

We guess, optimistic or not, sometimes trusting the process just doesn't work out.
