Dell Curry Reveals He’s Only Seen Steph’s Captivating Pregame Routine Once

Don't count Dell Curry as one of the people who comes out early to see his son's pregrame shooting display.

As we've written about before, Stephen Curry's pregame routine is utterly insane. The Golden State star and unanimous MVP puts on a veritable shooting clinic against air before he does it against living people, capping it by chucking up (and usually making) a shot from the tunnel. It may not be an intentional bonus for fans who arrive early for good parking, but it's kind of nice that it works out that way.

One of those people who doesn't seem to care enough to get there in time to see it is his father (and former 16-year NBA vet) Dell Curry. He revealed as much in an interview on Thursday night with ESPN's Lindsay Czarniak, also spilling the beans that Stephen's mom Sonya hasn't ever seen it (skip to 1:40, or read the transcript below, if you don't have all damn day):

As you can see, Czarniak is genuinely shocked that Steph's parents don't show up early enough to watch him shoot. But, as Dell explains, (see: blames) it's the fault of his daughter-in-law, wife, and some other people:

"I've only seen it once. This year in Atlanta. Because when I [go to the game in Oakland] I usually go with Ayesha. I wait on her, and my wife, and whoever else, so we get there late. I see it on TV. But I've only seen it once live. It's really extraordinary. I've seen him do it during workouts, but not in the pregame warmup, just that one time. It's amazing the amount of people that come just to see that.
"My wife has not seen it yet. She actually said [Wednesday] I wanna go early tomorrow so I can see it."

Dell, like you, has a few more opportunities to watch it this season. And then that's it until Halloween, as the Warriors star revealed this week he wouldn't be playing in the Olympics this August.

Catch it while you can.
