DeMarcus Cousins' Technical Foul Made Steve Kerr Lose a Bet

Although this was Cousins' first technical as an active player, he was ejected from a game against Knicks in October for arguing with the referee.

Unfortunately for Warriors coach Steve Kerr, it took DeMarcus Cousins a whopping three games to pick up his first technical in the blue-and-gold.

"Yeah, I lost a bet," Kerr told a local Bay Area sports radio station. "I had Game 2 as his first technical. But it took three games."

The technical foul came on Thursday (Jan. 24) when Cousin pushed Wizards center Thomas Bryant during the first half of the contest. This spiciness is par for the course when it comes to Boogie, who's finished every season in the double digits when it comes to technical fouls (including his injury shortened season last year). The one against the Wizards was his 119th career tech.

Although this was Cousins' first technical as an active player, he was ejected from a game against the Knicks back in October for arguing with the referee from the sidelines.

Regardless, Steve Kerr is impressed by Cousins' recovery and the way he has gelled with the team.

"He’s a perfect fit with us," Kerr told the radio station. "Though three games, it’s been fun to see the progressions because he’s getting better each day."

Kerr himself has had reason to celebrate over the weekend. The Warriors' close victory over the Celtics on Saturday night marked Kerr's 300th win. The 377 games it took him to do so makes him the fastest to reach that total in any of America's four major professional leagues.
