intro

Due to some other obligations, like destroying everybody at the BET Awards cyphers, Joe had to take a couple weeks off from kindly giving out his expert advice for free. Much has happened since we last heard from Joe, but he's still been keeping track of who is on the up and up, and who is starting to show their true colors. As we enter one of the first frigid weeks of the season, Joe weighed in on the Cowboys, Steelers, Giants, and Chargers.

Giants

Miami Dolphins @ New York Giants (-10), 1 Sunday, CBS

"Giants coming off a bye week. I like the Giants by 10 well-rested. That loss Miami took last week, I think we're gonna witness som carryover from that. The Giants are my sleeper team this year if they can just stop the run, which they've had a problem doing. I think they have a good chance to win the division. I still like Eli, like Coughlin, Bradshaw's back. I like this kid Cruz. If Manningham could just wake up. I like the Giants and I say that without any Giants fan bias."

Prediction: Giants and the points.

Patriots

New England Patriots @ Pittsburgh Steelers (+3), 4:15, CBS

"I got Pittsburgh winning that game. I think after that Baltimore loss they snapped out of it. I love the coach, still can’t doubt Big Ben. They have a healthier Mendenhall. I like Pittsburgh. I think they’ll play aggressive defense and I think they’ll touch Tom Brady. I don’t expect them to kick the ball off four times like Buffalo, but I like them."

Prediction: Steelers and the points

Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles (-3), 8:20 Sunday, NBC

"I’m taking dallas against my better judgment. I’m sold on that Murray kid. Well, Not so much sold on him, but that Philly run defense is that bad. I think he’ll exploit that. I’m not as low on Tony Romo as some people. Dallas has some of the biggest and fastest receivers in the game. The Eagles have some internal drama with the Asante Samuel story that just broke. If Michael Vick doesn’t have an astronomical game, I think they lose. And with Dallas' easier schedule coming up, I’ve got Dallas and the Giants fighting for the division."

Prediction: Cowboys and the points

Chargers

San Diego Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs (+3), 8:30 Monday, ESPN

"I got San Diego winning that game, especially coming off that loss last week. They got a healthy Antonio Gates. I'd like to see Gates and Vincent Jackson have a big game together. I haven't seen that, maybe I just haven’t seen them on the field too much together. But San Diego has a better QB, better receivers, better running backs, better everything."
