Up until a few minutes ago, we didn’t know that there was a strong connection between Master P and Lamar Odom. But according to Master P, he has been “like a mentor” to Odom throughout his NBA career. So when TMZ Sports caught up with him late yesterday, the rapper (and former NBA player) had some things to say about Odom’s current situation.
Master P called the situation “sad,” which it obviously is. But after doing that, he also called Kobe Bryant out for not doing more to help Odom in recent years. He said that Odom wanted badly to get back into the NBA and that Kobe didn’t do anything to help him.
“If Kobe was his friend…Kobe, like, owns the [Lakers]. He could’ve got the man back on the team,” he said. “That’s all he wanted.”
Master P also said that he believes Kobe and the Kardashiansshowing up to be by Odom’s side at the hospital this week is “phony.”
