Kobe Bryant left the Lakers' preseason game on Tuesday with a leg injury, and shortly thereafter, he left the arena entirely.
The event took place in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and once the news of Lamar Odom's tragic situation made the rounds, Bryant simply could no longer remain at the meaningless exhibition contest.
Odom played seven seasons alongside Bryant as a member of the Lakers, and the pair won championships together in both the 2009 and 2010 seasons. He remains hospitalized this morning, and his agent released the following statement:
For those who may only know Odom from his time in the NBA or as part of a reality television show, he's endured a ridiculous amount of tragedy in his life. His father was a heroin addict, and his mother died of cancer when he was 12 years old. And, he had a six-month-old son die of sudden infant death syndrome in 2006.
