DeAnde Jordan = Shaq?

At his peak, Shaquille O'Neal was one of the most dominating offensive players in NBA history. It was literally impossible for most opposing teams to stop him. So Mavericks owner Mark Cuban raised quite a few eyebrows when he agreed to sign former Clippers center DeAndre Jordan to a four-year, $80 million deal last night and then referred to him as "Shaq-like" during a radio interview.

"We see him as 'Shaq-like' but never having been given the opportunity," Cuban said on The Ticket. "We told him if he came to the Mavs, he would be a focal point. He would grow into being a franchise player."

Cuban also said that Jordan's problem in Los Angeles was that he was "like the eighth option" for the Clippers and revealed that he'll get the chance to be the first option in Dallas as Dirk Nowitzki edges closer to the end of his career.

Does that sound like a good idea to you? Jordan is obviously great at finishing dunks, but is he going to be able to be "Shaq-like" in the post if he's given the opportunity? Things are going to get interesting down in Dallas.
