The jury is still out on whether Joel Embiid will transform himself into one of the best players in the NBA. But for the time being, the 76ers star appears to be perfectly content with being one of the biggest trolls the league has ever seen.
In between dealing with a slew of injuries in recent seasons and slowly working himself back into the Sixers’ lineup this season, Embiid has trolled, well, just about everyone. From LeBron James and Kevin Durant to LaVar Ball and his son Lonzo, Embiid has used social media to troll a number of people over the course of the last couple years. Most recently, he even went after Jalen Rose and torched him for suggesting that Embiid was being "unprofessional" when he said that he was only "69 percent" healthy after a recent game.
Most NBA fans think Embiid’s non-stop trolling is great and are glad that he has so much fun both on and off the court. But of course, there are some people who don’t necessarily see it that way. They want Embiid to STFU and just focus on playing basketball rather than trolling everyone in sight.
With the Cavaliers in Philadelphia to take on the Sixers on Monday night, LeBron was asked for his take on Embiid’s various troll jobs. LeBron is known to dabble in a little bit of trolling of his own, and he responded to reporters’ questions about Embiid by saying that he doesn’t see why everyone makes such a big deal out of it when he trolls someone online. He told everyone to quit being so damn sensitive about it and to stop taking Embiid so seriously.
"Who cares?" LeBron asked. "Who cares? What are you going to do about it? You’re going to fight him? Who cares? People are so sensitive."
There’s a chance—maybe even a good chance?—that LeBron could be singing a different tune after Cleveland plays Philadelphia on Monday night. Embiid has trolled LeBron before, and there’s a good chance he’ll do it again. Hell, he might even do it before the game even starts tonight. But for now, the King has spoken, and he doesn’t have a problem with the NBA’s biggest troll trolling away. So why do you?
