Justin Tuck’s NFL career is over. After spending more than a decade in the league with the Giants and, most recently, the Raiders, the defensive end has decided to call it quits. He made his announcement earlier today in a long Facebook message:
Tuck also spoke with Fox Sports about his decision to end his career. And while he sounds comfortable with the decision, Tuck did admit that there was one thing that could have kept him around for another year. According to him, he likely would have spent next season playing for the Giants if they asked him to sign with them and, more importantly, if Tom Coughlin hadn’t resigned after the 2015-16 NFL season.
“If Coach Coughlin would’ve come back another year, I probably would’ve considered coming back,” he told Fox Sports. “I didn’t even venture down that road. I think I would’ve given a lot of consideration to it.”
That bit of news isn’t surprising when you consider the Instagram message Tuck posted for Coughlin after he resigned:
