Yesterday, Floyd Mayweather revealed that he has started training for his next fight, which is scheduled to take place on September 12 and might be shown for free on CBS. Problem is, he still hasn't announced who his opponent will be. So no one seems to know whether or not they should be excited yet.
It sounds like we might be getting closer to knowing who Mayweather's opponent will be, though. According to a report released by The Sweet Science last night, Mayweather is going to face Andre Berto (which would explain this). The site has since updated its initial report to note that nothing has been finalized, but they are still pointing out that "it does indeed look like the CBS/Berto plan will be effected."
Regardless of who he settles on, we wouldn't expect Mayweather to drag this out for much longer. After all, there's a fight to promote! Stay tuned. Maybe he'll announce it during the ESPYs tonight?
