Richard Jefferson criticized Giannis Antetokounmpo by calling him a "Pippen," after the Bucks dropped another game to the Heat on Wednesday.

"Giannis might be a Pippen," he tweeted, obviously referring to Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen. "There I said! He needs his Jordan."

On Thursday, Pippen caught wind of the tweet, and dropped the hammer.

"I'm not Giannis," he wrote, "I don't have back-to-back league MVPs (he will in a matter of days—and he’s not me. The question is... who were you as a player?"

I’m not Giannis—I don’t have back-to-back league MVPs (he will in a matter of days)—and he’s not me. The question is... who were you as a player? 😂 https://t.co/Ce6tGU98s3

Jay Williams also called LeBron James a "Pippen," prompting James to respond the following day.

So LeBron was a Pippen with D Wade once. Nothing wrong with that until you get over the hump. https://t.co/exAjQ3uOW4

They said Giannis a “Pippen” and he needs his Jordan and i don’t think they should be disrespecting Pippen like that

Yeah I really dont understand this running theme that Giannis needs a "Pippen" to get over the hump? That has nothing to do with the fact that he and #Bucks are just not playing well nor consistently and the #Heat snatching their heart the first two games of this series. https://t.co/I8x1gGruDA

With the Bucks' latest loss, Giannis' future with the team could hang in the balance. In fact, it was reported earlier this week that he could even sign with Miami if they end up eliminating the Bucks.

But that's neither here nor there. For now, Giannis' focus is on proving to the world that he can lead a team to an NBA championship.
