Kemba Walker is just about the only bright spot in Charlotte and he might be on the way out. According to NBA insiders from The Athletic and ESPN, the all-star has hit a snag in negotiating with the Hornets and the Boston Celtics are ready to take advantage.
Shams Charania reports that the two parties are in a stalemate.
Adrian Wojnarowski added that the stalled talks have the Celtics salivating and that sources around the league believe Boston will walk away from free agency with Walker under contract.
The internet, outside of the nasally, excited Boston-sphere, made up for what they didn't have in concrete evidence with jokes.
Some couldn't help but point out that Kemba was just talking about being in Charlotte forever.
Others just felt for Terry Rozier, who is being strung along by Boston while they figure out their superstar situation.
We'll likely know pretty quickly how this will shake out when free agency opens on Sunday. Woj for one, seems pretty confident, after he reported that Kemba is “going to head to Boston with Kyrie Irving on his way out” if there aren't any “unforeseen change of events."
