Darryl Strawberry Confirms That Former Teammate Kevin Mitchell Decapitated His Girlfriend’s Cat

Former New York Met Darryl Strawberry, accompanied by his wife Tracy, sat down with HuffPost Live today to discuss their new book The Imperfect Marriage: Help For Those Who Think It’s Over, as well as Darryl’s time on the baseball diamond. Eventually, the conversation shifted to the topic of teammate Dwight “Doc” Gooden’s autobiography Heat, in which he reveals that fellow New York Met Kevin Mitchell once decapitated his girlfriend’s cat after the two got into a heated argument. Mitchell had previously debated that claim, but Darryl told host Marc Lamont Hill that’s exactly what happened. “Kevin Mitchell did do that. Kevin Mitchell, he’s a different type of guy,” said Strawberry. Um, ya think, Darryl?  Strawberry also said that he never did steroids, or any performance enhancing drugs, during his career, and talked about the prevalent cocaine culture that did exist in baseball in the 80s. Judging from the Kevin Mitchell story, we’d say that sounds about right. Check Darryl out below, spitting truth:
