Collin Sexton is the top-rated point guard in this draft class. A pitbull-type guard; many have compared Sexton to Russell Westbrook. And though Oklahoma's Trae Young has gotten more attention this year—which makes sense considering he morphed into Steph Curry for two months—Sexton has been the PG who has wowed draft scouts.
Sexton is the go-to option for Avery Johnson's Alabama squad. And with the Crimson Tide's season potentially on the brink, they turned to their No. 1 guy.
Texas A&M, No. 8 in the Big 12, and Alabama, No. 9, went head-to-head in the second round of the SEC Tournament Thursday. Down 70-69 with 4.4 seconds to go, Alabama inbounded the ball to Sexton, who drove the length of the floor before finger-rolling in the game-winner just ahead of the buzzer. Sexton jumped off his right foot and rolled it in with his right hand. He took off from just beyond the free throw line.

Alabama (17-14) is a fringe NCAA Tournament team. The Tide almost certainly needed this win to qualify. Joe Lunardi currently has Alabama as one of his "Last Four In."
Sexton is averaging 18.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He needs to refine his shot, but he's excellent in just about every other facet of the game.
The NCAA Tournament field will be announced Sunday.
