NBA 2K19 was in the news a week ago as it announced Travis Scott would serve as the soundtrack's executive producer. Now, the video game has made headlines again. The reason? Three big names will serve as color commentators.

Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, and the Ringer head honcho Bill Simmons will help narrate in-game action with Kevin Harlan.

The game announced the news through a new trailer Thursday morning, in which Simmons says he's been waiting for this opportunity "for years."

The Mamba and Big Ticket also appeared as guest commentators on NBA 2K18. Having insights from two all-time greats provided a fun break from the usual run of commentary, and the always-opinionated Simmons should also be a valuable addition.

What an honor! Thanks for allowing me in the 2k family, my son is actually impressed for once. https://t.co/e6KVQpYYaC

Earlier this week, the game announced its MyCAREER mode will give players an opportunity to work their way up to the NBA from the G-League and from China.
