There’s been a lot of talk since the Bulls-Timberwolves trade last week that Chicago got simply ripped off. The Bulls gave up third-team All-NBA performer Jimmy Butler and the No. 16 overall pick in the draft (Justin Patton) in exchange for Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn, and the No. 7 pick (Lauri Markkanen).

It’s hard to understand where the Bulls were coming from. They really couldn’t get more for Butler? They really had to throw that first-rounder in there?

Understandably, Timberwolves fans are elated. They feel like they just pulled off a grand heist.

But apparently some haters have come out of the woodwork to tell Butler he was the reason things in Chicago didn’t work out. Butler responded to said haters at his introductory press conference in Minnesota Thursday. He even gave them his cell phone number to air their grievances.

Plenty of people called Butler, and he appeared to have prepared for it. Clearly it was a premeditated move. The message on the other end stated Butler’s mailbox was full.

This very well could be a publicity stunt, but we don’t really know what Butler would be getting out of it other than a ton of calls and FaceTimes, which he appears to actually be answering.

Here’s that number, in case you want to give it a try: 773-899-6071.
