Cleveland Browns defensive back Damarious Randall has made $23 million in his career—quite a fortune, to be sure. If the Cleveland Cavaliers win the NBA Finals, however, he may end up with a bill out of his price range.
Late Monday night, after the Golden State Warriors stormed back to defeat the Houston Rockets in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, Randall stated on Twitter that he would buy everyone who retweeted his post a Cavs jersey. The problem? Randall's tweet has racked up more than 300,000 retweets.
If the jerseys cost $100 on average, Randall would be looking at a price tag of $30 million—in other words, everything he's earned in his NFL career and then some. When challenged with the idea that he would not follow through, however, Randall stated that there's a "100% chance" he fulfills the promise.
Randall is actually rooting for the Warriors and not the team repping his new home.
The Green Bay Packers selected Randall, who attended Arizona State, in the first round of the 2015 draft. He spent three seasons in Green Bay and last year started 12 games, the most of his career.
In March, Green Bay traded Randall to the Browns for DeShone Kizer and a pick swap.
