Adrien Broner Insults a Whole Room Full of Boxers

"I'm trying to outshine everybody."

Showtime hosted a “boxing upfront” Wednesday night in New York City. Twenty-four of the top boxers in the world—including big names like Keith Thurman, Deontay Wilder, Mikey Garcia, and Errol Spence—showed up for the event, at which Showtime announced 12 world-title fights, all of which will air on the network in the first half of 2018.

Adrien Broner is never afraid to say what’s on his mind, no matter the occasion. So when he took the mic, he let the other boxers know how he felt about them. Charlamagne Tha God, who hosted the event, called Broner to the front and asked him, “What are your goals for 2018?”

With 20 other boxers onstage, Broner gave an honest answer. His goals involved...well, dominating everyone else in attendance.

“I’m trying to outshine everybody,” Broner said. “I gotta go crazy, like, I been bullshitting, and then they got me up here next to these muthafuckas and we gotta fight. I don’t like these muthafuckas, man, so don’t be fooled like we all cool. We still gotta fight.”

Broner said his next fight, versus Omar Figueroa April 21 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, “is the start of the turnup again.”

The Wilder-Ortiz fight March 3 is also highly anticipated.

“I’m 39-0 with 38 KOs,” said Wilder, according to Deadline. “Every time I promised I was going to knock a boy out—or a man or whatever they want to call themselves—I have done that. And come March 3, I promise you I’m going to knock him out too.”
