Marshawn Lynch could be returning to the NFL to play for the franchise where he became a household name.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Mike Garafolo, and Tom Pelissero, Lynch will be taking a trip to Seattle to meet with the Seahawks. The 'Hawks are hoping to convince Lynch to sign on as the team's power need for a running back.
Chris Carson was a consistent ball carrier for Seattle, but he injured his hip during Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Along with Carson potentially being sidelined for the postseason, Seattle's backup running back, C.J. Prosise, also went down with a broken arm during Sunday's contest.
Instead of scanning through the wavier wire, the Seahawks decided to fill this void by tapping some trusted talent. In addition to meeting with Lynch, Seattle is also looking to sit down with former running back Robert Turbin. Seattle seems to be going this route because they'll need a back that is willing and ready to help with pass protection.
