We created the Glass Helmet Project as a symbol to reinforce the fundamental humanity of the football players that wear it. @mavcarter, @Hawk, and Victor Solomon discuss the importance for players to be seen and heard. #MoreThanAFootballPlayer #MoreThanAnAthlete pic.twitter.com/fuvgrtWYxl— UNINTERRUPTED (@uninterrupted) September 4, 2019
Uninterrupted points out that the faces of football players are usually covered by their helmets and that many fans wouldn't be able to recognize them. To bring attention to this, Uninterrupted created glass helmets that allow for a player's face to be visible. Uninterrupted says the campaign hopes that the glass helmets will encourage fans to reconsider how they view NFL players. "The meaning behind it is: All these great athletes that play our wonderful sport of football, will be heard and will be seen," LeBron said of the initiative. "Because they are, at the end of the day, they are people as well."
The clear helmets were designed by Victor Solomon.
Saquon Barkley, Alex Mattison, Andy Isabella, Benny Snell, Damian Harris, Devin Singletary, Diontae Johnson, Hakeem Butler, Miles Boykin, N'Keal Harry, and Parris Campbell are also involved with the campaign.
I am more than stats. I am more than exciting plays. I am a father. I am a leader. I am here to make an impact. I am @saquon. And I will be seen. #MoreThanAFootballPlayer #MoreThanAnAthlete pic.twitter.com/4G5hftk4Qs— UNINTERRUPTED (@uninterrupted) September 4, 2019
