Ex-WWE superstar Ashley Massaro committed suicide, TMZ Sports reports.

Massaro reportedly hung herself in her Suffolk County, New York home, early Thursday morning, and was later found unconscious. She was subsequently taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The death is being categorized as “non-criminal.” She leaves behind a daughter.

The WWE paid tribute to Massaro on Sunday during the Money in the Bank pay-per-view event.

It was previously reported that on May 17, Massaro had passed away, though the cause of death was unknown. At that point, her death had been classified as “non-criminal.”

Massaro is well-known for winning the WWE’s 2005 Raw Diva Search, where she was awarded a $250,000 one-year contract. Her notable matches include the WWE Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania 23 in 2007, and the Playboy BunnyMania LumberJill match at Wrestlemania 24 in 2008. She also appeared on 2007’s Survivor: China. She parted ways with the WWE in 2008, later making a return in 2017 with a smaller pro wrestling company.

“We are saddened to learn of the tragic death of former WWE Superstar Ashley Massaro,” the WWE said in a statement last week. “She performed in WWE from 2005-2008 and was beloved by her fellow Superstars and fans around the world. WWE offers its condolences to Ashley’s family and friends.”
