LaVar Ball Already Assistant Coaching Games for LiAngelo and LaMelo's Lithuanian Team

Lavar Ball will try his hand as the assistant coach for LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball’s Lithuanian team during the Big Baller Challenge.

LaVar Ball will try his hand at coaching on Tuesday, acting as the assistant coach for LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball’s Lithuanian team, Vytautas. The team is set to play against BC Dzukija in the Big Baller Challenge in Lithuania. The challenge includes five games that aren’t included in the rankings, and was created so that LaVar’s sons could get more practice, and play against athletes who are closer to their age.

According to ESPN, LaVar will use the games to experiment with the team. "He will be an assistant coach on game protocol but will drive the team through the game and make many of the decisions," a team spokesman told ESPN. "The style the team is going to play is going to be LaVar's choice."

Vytautas coach Virginijus Seskus added, "He also has an idea for a new way for the team to play defense, so we're going to try it out tonight."

Vytautus is last place in the Lithuanian league, with a standing of 4-16. After signing to the team in December, LaMelo and LiAngelo played only a moderate amount during their debut on Jan. 13, which they ended up losing. The Lithuanian league is more competitive than the challenge, and the brothers typically play against older athletes. LaMelo has been averaging 18.3 points and 7.3 assists during the Big Baller Challenge, while LiAngelo has been averaging 23.3 points.
