The Lions decided to part ways with offensive lineman Rodney Austin this morning, less than a week after he was arrested in Charlotte, N.C. and charged with assaulting a woman and a baby.

According to TMZ Sports, Austin—who has been with Detroit since 2012—allegedly pushed a woman named Yvonne Gill-Sadler down at around 2 a.m. back on April 5. Gill-Sadler was holding an infant in her arms at the time of the alleged attack. And while her and the baby were both OK after the alleged incident, Austin has been charged with assault, larceny, child abuse, and interfering with emergency communication. Police say that, in addition to pushing Gill-Sadler, Austin also stole her cell phone from her to prevent her from calling 911.

We're sure more details about the incident will be released soon. But for now, Austin is facing some serious legal issues and doesn't have an NFL team to play for next season.
