Roy Jones Jr. Will Finally Call It Quits...Soon

Roy Jones Jr. is very close to hanging up his gloves for good.

From 2009 to 2011, Roy Jones Jr. lost three consecutive bouts to Danny Green, Bernard Hopkins and Denis Lebedev, respectively. That last fight ended in a knockout which was just brutal to watch. At that point, Jones maybe should've hung it up for good, but he continued on. Since his loss to Lebedev, RJJ has strung together six straight victories, improving his record to 60-8. So, the 46-year-old should probably call it career now and leave on a high note, right? Eh, not quite.

According to Boxing Scene, Jones does acknowledge that the end is in sight, but there's a catch. RJJ wants to compete one last time for the cruiserweight world title, "ideally against Marco Huck."

“When I get the cruiserweight title, I’m done,” Jones said.

And if he loses?

“I’m done,” he said.

If Jones gets that title shot, it will be the last fight of his career. But it appears he will continue competing in the ring until that opportunity comes true. With that being said, please give this man the title fight he wants. Just so he can finally hang it up for good. Please!
