On Thursday, the Los Angeles Clippers were easily defeated by the Cleveland Cavaliers, 105-94. After the game, though, the Clippers players were mostly focused on the five technical fouls they received in the contest. Matt Barnes picked up two and was ejected from the game, while DeAndre Jordan, head coach Doc Rivers and Chris Paul were called for one each.

While speaking with reporters after the game, a frustrated Paul called some of the technicals, including the one he received, as "ridiculous." Then, CP3 took aim at first-year NBA referee, Lauren Holtkamp, saying, "If that's the case, this might not be for her." Obviously, the reaction to that last remark caused quite a stir. Some people felt as though his comment was sexist while others begged to differ.

The NBA has responded to Paul's public criticism of referee Holtkamp with a $25,000 fine. According to ESPN's Marc Stein, this punishment had nothing to do being a gender-based criticism from the Clippers star point guard.
