Oakland Raiders Have Reached a Decision on Who Will Be Their Week 1 Starting Quarterback

Newly acquiring Matt Schaub or newly drafted Derek Carr? The Oakland Raiders have reached a decision on who will be starting for them in Week 1.

None

According to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, the Oakland Raiders have determined who will be their starting quarterback for Week 1 next Sunday. Thanks to a strong preseason performance which saw him post a 105.2 passer rating on 45 throws, rookie Derek Carr has been named the opening game starter. Brother of 11-year NFL QB David Carr, Derek will have his work cut for him when Oakland heads into a tough road game at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets.

It's not going to be easy, but the Raiders must feel confident enough in his abilities to throw him into the fire at such an early point in his career. Good luck, Derek.
