You probably saw this coming, but now it's official: The NFLPA has appealed the indefinite suspension of Ray Rice. Here was their statement:
Now it's the lawyers' time to shine.
The players association had until 11:59 p.m. tonight to file the appeal with their main contention being that a player can't be punished twice for the same transgression (i.e.: the NFL suspending Rice indefinitely after the second video surfaced). The NFL's argument will probably rely upon whether a "neutral arbitrator" believes the statement that the league hadn't seen the second video more than the public does.
