Even if you're not a sports fan, there's a pretty good chance that you know what Lambeau Field is. More than 50 years ago, the Green Bay Packers home stadium was built in Green Bay, Wis. and named after Packers founder Curly Lambeau. It's one of the most famous stadiums in any sport in the entire country.
But apparently, Detroit Lions rookie cornerback Darius Slay had never heard of the stadium until earlier this week. So when his teammates started talking about Lambeau Field during a film session recently, he got really, really confused and provided one of the best quotes of the 2013-14 NFL season.
"Lambo?" he asked them. "Like the car?"
Uh, WHAT? Within seconds, Slay's teammates were rolling around on the ground laughing and mocking the rookie. But as it turns out, he genuinely had no idea that "Lambeau" was the name given to Green Bay's stadium.
"I knew what a Lambo was," he said later, "but I didn't know it was Green Bay's stadium. They said, 'Man, that's the stadium!' I said, 'Oh man…'"
"Oh man" is right. Dude, you're in the NFL. How are you, of all people, confusing "Lambeau" for "Lambo"?! SMH.
