Tropical Storm Hilary rampaged across Southern California this past weekend, causing unprecedented amounts of rainfall and powerful winds that resulted in downed power lines and floods across local areas. One of the businesses that were affected by the storm was premiere skate shop Brooklyn Projects, which confirmed on social media that the stock for one of its upcoming releases had been damaged.

Dom DeLuca, the owner of Brooklyn Projects, shared surveillance footage on Instagram late last night of the storefront, which was overflowing with water from Tropical Storm Hilary. The store confirmed that products have also been damaged by the storm, including multiple pairs of the much-anticipated Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Dunk collab.

The video from Brooklyn Projects shows that numerous boxes of the aforementioned Dunk have been damaged, but it isn't clear how much the sneakers themselves were affected. The store confirmed that it will be closed today as a result of the damages.

"We will be closed tomorrow to deal with what has become a normal thing which the city of Los Angeles fails to do anything to help," Brooklyn Projects said on Instagram.

As the name suggests, the Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Dunk was designed in partnership with the Olympic gold medalist. The sneaker is currently scheduled to release on Aug. 29 via the Nike SNKRS app and at select Nike SB stockists. At the time of writing, Brooklyn Projects hasn't announced its plans for the release of the damaged Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Dunk.
