Sneakerheads can rejoice as, after nearly six months since the collaboration was first announced, Stone Island and New Balance have provided a first look at their co-branded RC ELITE SI.
Describing the release as “the first chapter of this long-term partnership,” the shoe itself is a reworked version of New Balance’s RC_ELITE, which has been reimagined to house the label’s athletic design codes with Stone Island’s cutting-edge materials and forward-thinking techniques.
Dressing the silhouette in a white and red colourway, the rip across the breathable 3D knit upper is arguably the highlight of the collaboration and reveals a pair of red logos beneath. While the 3D knit upper has been designed to meet all your race-ready needs, the design details continue, with the left foot featuring the Stone Island compass logo, and the right foot arriving with bold New Balance graphics.
Alternate branding is spotted onto the tongue, with the left foot tagged by “Stone Island Product Research” and the right foot featuring New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio branding.
The midsole, using the updated hyper-light FuelCell technology and the carbon fiber plate, offers the highest energy return with propulsive transition and 360-degree functionality, designed to allow for faster running whatever the distance
The Stone Island x New Balance Tokyo Design Studio RC ELITE SI will be available for preview from October 7 to October 10, when it can be viewed by tablet at select Stone Island stores. On October 12, it will release via the Stone Island web store, before launching on the Stone Island WeChat store a day later.
